johns Bids for a transfer...

well. He has put in his bids for a transfer, and i am SOO hopeing he gets one soon!
The way it works.... ANYone who works at pg&e can "request" (BID) to work at a different location/different position. SO, if a person BIDS for a position they are currently employed at. (a tech like john, applies for SAME position-TECH) then they are HIGHER on the list for that area.
SO, John put in transfers for,
Fresno-north of where we live- we would move to a town next to there called clovis.
Selma- a little closer than fresno, we would live in Visalia
Lemoore-it is west of us, but we are not really wanting this one- he just bid it anyway-
*Santa Maria-west about 3 hours - at the coast/inland, we would live there
*Templeton-west about 2 1/2 hours - coast- we would live there
*San Luis Obispo-west 2 1/2 hours - coast- we would live there.
(all the "***" mean that these towns are about 1/2 hour awayfrom the town we normally go to when we go to the beach, Morro Bay, just to give you an idea of area)
He is either first on the list of acceptance, or 2nd.!!!!!!
what does that MEAN? well it means as soon as a position opens up in one of those locations (someone retires, etc..) he is going to GET that job/spot!
at first the only places he put in for transfers was Fresno, selma & lemoore. Then after alot of discussion, he decided to try for the coast. It is a little more expensive to live there, but there are a bunch of surrounding towns, And most importantly- he is having health problems with his breathing right now (BECAUSE of the air in Bakersfield (where he currently drives to work at) so the air at the coast will be better for him, and us!)
so we have been hopeing and praying that a move to the coastal area is JUST what our family needs! It is a decision that John and i have been talking about ALOT, as a couple, Im SURE we will make the right desicion for our family. And i MUST say, all the desicion making, and planning that has been going on since he started this job has TOTALLY brought us together as a couple! Im excited to see what the rest of this year brings us!!
